In honor of their mother Peach, the girls are named: Apple (Black with white chest, paws and back of neck spot, multi color collar), Orange (Black with white chest, orange collar), Kiwi (almost completely black wearing pink collar), and Mango (Black with white chest, paws, and back of neck, not wearing a collar). All the girls appear to be Wavy.

In honor of their father Fenway the boys are named: Sox (Brown w/White Irish Markings), Bruin (Brown with White Chest), Patriot (Black puppy wearing red collar), Celtic (Black w/ White Chest and Tips of paws, wearing green Collar). They all appear to be Curlies......I would expect that they will have loose curls though as they grow I will know more.

Peach had her babies at co-breeder Chris Harris' (Reel Life) house on 10/6. Peach delivered the 8 pups uneventfully in 3 hours! She blessed us with 4 boys and 4 girls (weights from 7 to 11 ounces). We have 2 brown boys (one with irish markings) and the rest are black with from no white to chests and feet. It appears that we also have 4 curlies. Peach is a very textured wavy, and Fenway is wavy....but Peach's father Jack (BISS CH WaterMark Toby's BlackJack), though a wavy, has been known to produce curlies when bred to wavies. So I will assume that is where the curls are coming from. In honor of their father (Fenway, CH Querida's The Green Monster AWD) the boys are Bruin, Celtic, Sox, and Patriot. In honor of their mother (Peach, CH DeerChase Reel Life Georgia Peach) the girls are Orange, Apple, Kiwi, Mango. Individual pics in a few days.

The pups arrived!!!! A few days early so I was in Dallas at a PWDCA in-person board meeting! YIKES! But Josh handled it well. He put in the call to Chris Harris who drove down to help whelp the litter. The excitement started at about 4:30 PM when her water broke. First puppy two hours later. and the last one at about 4 AM! So Corky (Cora) took her own sweet time! That is a LONG delivery for only 5 pups. But they are BIG ones!!!! First born were two Parti Color Boys who weighed in at 20 and 18 ounces! and the last three were girls with black with white markings. 18 ounces to almost 13 ounces. HUGE!!! names to come.

I spoke with Marika (Corky's co-owner) on Monday night.......she confirms that Corky is indeed "VERY PREGNANT". Traditionally, Corky would come to stay with me starting about a week from today...which would also be the time that I would be XRaying her to ascertain an approximate number of pups. Though due to a mandatory business meeting in Dallas March 11 through 13 I won't get Corky until the 13th. Her first due date is March 15th......though they are known to go early. Lets hope not in this case! Marika helped with the delivery of SASE's pups and feels good about handling this in the event she goes early. My friend Chris Harris is also "on call" to help if needed. If Corky makes it through the 13th I will have her Xrayed on Monday the 14th.

I am all about unique and humorous names.....too many people didn't get the original registered name I was going to use that went with Scooby.....so I switched gears and came up with CnSand Kiss My Splash! He is living in MA with Neil and Kelly and their PWD Hinckley.......here is where it gets interesting.......Hinkley and Henley (The Count) have MANY things in common.....both were first born, both were smallest at birth, both are Parti color AND both have CH Mousillion Chuck the Survivor as Grandpa. Why that is cool is that Hinckley's Dad Fenway was born in the USA where Chuck lived at the time...and SASE Henley's Mom was born in Sweden where Chuck currently resides. OK...so maybe that is cooler to me...then "Normal" people!!! :) At any rate, Hinckley and Henley (now thats a mouthful!) are having a great time!

So....the pups I expected mid next week....came LAST NIGHT!!!!!! All are doing well! They were a little early but seem to be full term. SASE is a great Mom and had a fabulous delivery. 7 pups. 4 girls and 3 boys. Two parti color (one boy and one girl), 4 Heavy Irish (full collars) and one black with white. Pups are smaller than what I usually get (though well within normal) from 6.7 to 10 ounces.

Fani and her friend Lil (the Jack Russel Water Terrier). Yes Fani DOES often have on a life jacket. Richard and Anne are following the teaching methods used by Deborah Lee Miller Riley a longtime PWD owner/water trial judge and developer of canine watet sports (http://www.caninewatersports.com/Home_Port.html). While Fani will not always swim with the jacket on, the use of it builds confidence (Fani has PLENTY of that), technique, and stamina.

Named in honor of my favorite TV Show...I present to you the Oceanic Six....Sawyer, Hurley, Kate, Claire, Sun, and Dharma (yes for those Lost fans...I know that Sawyer, Claire...and for that matter Dharma (who isn't even a person) were not among the Oceanic Six...but get over it!!!!!!)

The Two boys are both wavy Irish Mark (white collars, front legs, Chest, etc.), Two girls are Wavy mostly black with white chests, one girl is Irish marked wavy and one girl is irish/parti Curly. Please note that in looking at the pups I don't see any that look really curly.

It was a long day of good news....bad news.......Good news is that Mom and pups are doing well. Bad news is we had to do a C-Section. Tushie delivered the first two. But was having difficulty with puppy number three. We found that the puppy was terribly malpositioned as viewed on Xray. I recognized that there was a problem with that puppy and did not wait too long....though unfortunately we lost 5 of the 11 pups. 3 were quite small.....and two were normal size but after trying very hard to get them started we had to admit defeat. Mom, Tushie, is doing very well and is a fantastic Mom........I have 2 males that are heavy irish marks (full collars) and one parti bitch, one Irish bitch, and two black bitches with white chests and paws. All appear to be wavy though I am not 100% certain......honestly...I am more concerned with Mom care and helping these pups then with details! It will certainly be difficult over the next few days.....but I feel blessed with the 6...and happy that Tushie is doing well.

Tushie was Xrayed yesterday and has 7 to 10 babies! It is hard to get an exact count as there are so many of them. Probable due date is some time this weekend! Tushie will begin her stay at my house tomorrow.

Richard and Anne gave me an update on Tushie today. Tushie is due in two weeks! They say she is HAPPY.....and FAT! So she is doing a good job cooking those pups in her belly! She will be Xrayed for a head count a week from tomorrow and then will move to my house to prepare for delivery.

Congrats to Tushie and her "Dad" Richard for earning both Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Therapy Dog International (TDI) certification! I challenged Richard a few months ago.....and he and Tushie came through with flying colors! Apparently they were the SuperStars of their class!
